WHAT TO EXPECT AT MOUNTAIN VIEW BIBLE CHURCH
When you visit our church, you'll find a friendly group of Christians who are eager to grow in their relationship with God. We seek to accomplish that goal of spiritual growth at our church through several means, but primarily in these ways:
Worship Through the Word
We strive to be a church that is guided and submitted to the truths of God as revealed in His Word. We believe in the perfect inerrancy, total authority, and complete sufficiency of Scripture; and we view the preaching of God's Word as a powerful and precious time.
Our pastor, takes an expository approach to preaching, working through books of the Bible verse by verse, building each sermon on the text that follows. It is our prayer that as you see God revealed in His Word, the Holy Spirit would compel you to be a "doer of the Word, and not a hearer only."
We approach the Bible with three questions. 1. Proclamation—what does the Scripture say? 2. Interpretation—what does the Scripture mean? 3. Application—how does the meaning practically influence my life?
Worship through music
Music is a wonderful gift from God, by which He is glorified and believers are built up. Our church loves and values music in worship, and we begin every service with a time of corporate singing. We believe that the priesthood of every believer compels him or her to worship God personally, both privately and corporately. It is for this reason that we encourage active participation in worship, whether it be in congregational singing or meditating on the truths presented by the choir or other musicians.
